My Go-To Tea Recipe for Colds and Flu

No, it does not taste good. However, I know it works because my husband asks for it when the over-the-counter drugs just are doing it and he is suffering mid-cold.

Clearly this is a must-have tea recipe. Instead of waiting like my husband, this tea works best if brewed and consumed at the earliest signs of a cold. You most likely already have the ingredients in your home. Ingredients: -a few garlic cloves

-a couple pinches of oregano

-honey

-lime or lemon

-optional ginger

-optional turmeric

Instructions:

  1. Get two cups of water boiling in a pot

  2. Take the skins off the garlic cloves and chuck them into the water (add a ginger slice if you have fresh ginger available)

  3. Chuck a couple pinches of oregano into water (add a small pinch of turmeric if you can stand it)

  4. Let boil for about 5 minutes

  5. Pour through a sieve

  6. Serve with honey and lime

  7. Hold the hot tea near your nose to let the steam and heat enter your throat and nostrils

  8. Drink while hot without burning yourself

The staple items include garlic and oregano. I like to add a slice of fresh ginger or two.

You don't need anything fancy, however, my double deck tea pot always comes out when we catch a bug.
